Bulgarian Institute for Standardization (BDS) standards for packaging
The standards for the production of packaging that ensure the execution of Art. 4, Para. 1 of the Ordinance for packaging and packaging waste are:
BDS EN 13427:2004 – Packaging – Requirements for the use of European standards in the field of packaging and packaging waste.
BDS EN 13428:2004 – Packaging – Requirements specific to manufacturing and composition. Prevention by source reduction.
BDS EN 13429:2004 – Packaging – Requirements to the materials and type of packaging for reuse.
BDS EN 13430:2004 – Packaging – Requirements to the packaging recovered by recycling of material.
BDS EN 13431:2004 – Packaging – Requirements to the packaging recoverable in the form of energy recovery including specification of minimum inferior calorific value.
BDS EN 13432:2004 – Packaging – Requirements for packaging recoverable through composting and biodegradation - Test scheme and evaluation criteria for the final acceptance of packaging
According to Bulgarian legislation, Bulgarian Institute for Standardization (BIS) is the only body that has the right to disseminate Bulgarian standards on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria.
