Nearly 4 tons of waste from paper packaging handed over to schools from Sofia Municipality - Iskar region

Students, parents and teachers joined forces in the campaign for separate collection of waste paper packaging "Paper Race", organized by Bulecopack and Sofia Municipality - Iskar region. The aim of the campaign was for a certain period of time, each school in the area to collect as much paper waste from packaging.

On May 26, a representative of Bulecopack and Sofia Municipality - Iskar region visited all six schools in the region, expressing a desire to participate in order to collect, weigh and transport the collected amount.

With the active participation of all students, their families and teachers, the total amount of waste collected from paper packaging of all participating schools is 3,900 kg. We thank 108 Secondary School "Nikola Belovezhdov", 69 Secondary School "Dimitar Marinov", 4 Primary School "Prof. John Atanasov ”, 68 Secondary School Acad. Nikola Obreshkov ”, 163 Chernorizets Hrabar Primary School and 150 Tsar Simeon I Primary School, that they joined the initiative with such a desire and thus showed their responsible attitude and desire to reduce packaging waste.

Here are the winning schools that have collected the largest number:

First place - 108 Secondary School "Nikola Belovezhdov", handed over 920 kg.

Second place - 150 Primary School "Tsar Simeon the First", handed over 783.7 kg.

Third place - 68 Secondary School "Acad. Nikola Obreshkov ", handed over 760 kg.

The official award ceremony for the "Paper Race" campaign will take place on June 2 at 1:30 pm in the building of the Iskar District Administration. The three schools that collected the most waste will receive vouchers for school equipment, and for the rest there are incentive prizes.
